V.         Officer Reports

                 A. President – Lori Myers

Lori announced that we would be discussing Club Day and gave a brief discussion of what Club Day is. She said that there is usually a barbeque, but the school’s trying to cut back on money, so there will be Valentine’s Day cookies instead. If students visit three club tables, they can get a cookie to decorate. She also said that since Club Day will be on Valentine’s Day, that will be the theme as well. Club Day will be from 11:00-2:00, but she needs people to sign up to help starting at 10:00, which is when setup will begin. Lori passed around a sign-up sheet and asked that people write their name, email address, and the times they are available to help. Every Club Day, there is a contest to see who has the best table, so Lori wanted to know if we think it’s worth it to spend more money to get better decorations. Esther said she thinks the best table wins $150, and the money goes into the club’s account. We discussed the possibility of getting costumes. Lori said her idea is to get a blue tablecloth, decorative clouds, and then someone behind the table can possibly wear white feather wings and hold a bow and arrow. However, the wings would be about $60, and we decided that $150 isn’t that much, so it isn’t worth it to spend so much money. Lori announced that this semester, we will be going on a club kayaking trip in Monterey. There are single and double kayaks. She said another possible trip is to go to Ańo Nuevo. Lori asked what other kinds of trips we are interested in, and Sarah mentioned going on another hike. Later, Sarah also mentioned Mount Diablo.

VI.        Public Forum

Lindsay said that she’d still like to do a weekend cabin trip. She has a cabin in Arnold, CA, which is in the opposite direction of Lake Tahoe. She can have a total of 10-15 people there, and this entire month is ok except for the last week. She said it’s nice to go during the time there’s snow, but we can also go later. If we plan on going during a time there’s not snow though, we should wait until after March.
